We’re going to look at the five functions of the kinsman redeemer and we’ll see how Boaz does that for Ruth—how Christ does that for the Church—and we’ll see how to apply that to your life.

This gleaning system is part-and-parcel of the welcoming environment.  Come obey our laws, and we will share in our abundance.

In God’s providence, Ruth goes out sort-of randomly to glean for her living and she ends up in a favorable situation with manly, righteous, rich Boaz who ends up being, as we’ll see a kinsman redeemer.

Ruth was the treasure in the field.  God sold all that He had.  God died on the cross—to buy Ruth. 

I am a camel.  God made me a thread.  I don’t understand it, but there you have it.
